The First Warning Signs – Back and Neck Pain

Many people will suffer from back and neck pain at some point in their lives. This pain can be caused when the spine is stressed by injury, poor posture, disease or the natural aging process. Most pain typically resolves with common treatments like rest, exercise, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications or injections.

Common Injuries and Conditions of the Back and Spine

Slipped Disc (Herniated Disc)
A slipped disc can occur in the neck or lower back due to aging, improper lifting, car accident or other injury. It can be surgically treated with discectomy and fusion, disc replacement and minimally invasive microendoscopic discectomy.

Degenerative Disc Disease (Spondylosis)
A common cause of low back pain, disc degeneration is a natural part of aging. Recommended surgical treatments include spinal fusion and Intradiscal Electrothermal Therapy (IDET).

Spinal Stenosis
Narrowing of the spinal canal is often caused by osteoarthritis, the natural aging process, injury or previous surgeries. Surgical remedies include spinal decompression or spinal fusion.
